Making Funeral Arrangements

At Flannery's we know what a funeral service should accompolish and recogonise that different religion's and belief's require various approaches.

As a Funeral Director, our role is to guide you through arranging the funeral and to be there at all times to remove the burden of your stress throughout this difficult time. We will handle all planning and arrangements for you, such as:

  • Organise the burial or cremation: Purchase of new cemetery plots, Opening of new or existing plots, Organise the crematorium and all documentation required
  • Transportation: Hearse and Limousines
  • Transfer of the deceased from place of death to place of repose
  • Presentation of the deceased for viewing
  • Service arrangements : location & time of service, Floral tributes, Order of service booklets, Music, Condolence books, Catering if required
  • Death announcements - we can arrange for the announcements to appear in newspapers, internet, radio etc
  • After Care Services

We will look after the various disbursements associated with the funeral.

Death Certificate:

As Funeral Directors we must establish that a death certificate will be issued, in accordance with legal reguirements. . The issuing of the death certificate will vary depending on the circumstances of the death and can be be issued by the place of death or the doctor of the deceased. We will advise on how to proceed.

Funeral Home

If required, we can provide funeral home facilities for private services or wakes as well as those open for for public visitation at times agreed with the family.

House Wakes

We can also assist with traditional house wakes for families who prefer to bring their loved ones home for a traditional wake, to help people come to terms with the loss. House wakes can be a private family affair or open for public visitation at agreed times, and vary from a few hours to a number of days.

We can help with the preparation of the house and provide all the necessary items to ensure that everything is in keeping with your wishes. If you wish to have a home wake but are unsure if your home is suitable, we will advise and help you make the best decision.

We will take care of all the floral needs for the funeral. If you would prefer donations to a charity or organisation of your choice in lieu of flowers, we can provide donation box’s at the services and a list of local and national charities.

Pricing

The costs of a funeral depend on many factors, including your choice of coffin, any additional services you require such as catering, musicians etc. When we discuss your funeral requirements with you, we can can provide you with accurate costing. We can offer pricing with no obligation on your behalf.

There are two aspects in the overall funeral expense:

  • Funeral Directors Costs: this includes the cost of a coffin, supplying a hearse and bearers, and carrying out any specific instructions. The costs will vary depending on many factors such as the type of coffin chosen.
  • Disbursements: Disbursements are expenses paid by the Funeral Director on your behalf, and can include purchase of cemetery plots, flowers, payments to musicians, donations to churches etc.
